When moms talk Amanda Boyd listens. As a girls' designer for Gymboree's Janie and Jack collection, Boyd says she would always hear moms say 'I wish they had that in my size." When the San Francisco-based designer struck out on her own, she decided to heed the call. Adore La Vie specializes in matching special occasion dresses for mothers and daughters.

The mother/daughter dresses are similar in fabric, print and trims, but silhouettes are designed specifically for the wearer. Boyd, who also designed women's wear for the Janeville label and Speigel catalog, takes care to offer age-appropriate silhouettes for all. With her dresses for mom, Boyd often uses easy empire waist and A-line silhouettes so the designs are flattering for maternity and non-maternity wear.

Boyd is committed to celebrating the bond between mother and child. This bond is behind the name of her company. The Adore La Vie name reflects Boyd's recognition that women love to create life and that they adore the lives they create - the little ones they bring into the world. Boyd envisions mothers and daughters creating special memories and enjoying holiday events, birthday parties, neighborhood barbeques and family vacations in her pretty designs.
