Blogger - Bee's Mom

About five months before Bee was born, my friend Karin gave me some of her (and her 6 month old son's) favorite things.  One of the items was a pink and white set of four aden+anais swaddling cloths.  I had seen them before but didn't know how essential they were of course until after we brought Bee home from the hospital.september30

I don't remember if someone on the hospital staff gave us a lesson on how to swaddle a baby, but we followed the directions included in the set Karin gave us.  But no matter what we did Bee could break out of it.

After a few visits from relatively new moms those first few days at home, we learned how to swaddle the baby without thinking that we may be making the swaddle too tight -just tight enough so that she wouldn't be able to break out of it.

We also use the aden+anais swaddling cloths as a canopy on the carriage, as a mat to lay her down on the apartment floor and even though Bee is no longer being swaddled, we still take one with us wherever we go because it's so versatile.

On the off chance that we didn't have one with us we tried to use another baby blanket to swaddle her but it never worked as well.  I think it's the muslin material that "stretches" so easily.

After 4 months, Bee has upgraded out of the swaddle at night into sleep sacks.  But I'm getting ahead of myself.  We have weeks and weeks of products to go through before we touch on that topic.
