I was told when I did Bee's layette that I needed This photo was taken when Bee was a week old. We were getting a lesson in how to give her a sponge bath since her umbilical cord hadn't fallen off yet. The doula who was giving the bath and the lesson wrapped Bee up in a hooded towel and made sure her head was covered the whole time to ensure she was warm. We started giving her baths where she was sitting in water about a week later and ever since then we've made a huge effort to have one of us pouring warm water on her to keep her warm while the other uses a washcloth to get her clean. Thank g-d she LOVES bath time and could sit in her tub for a long time just kicking and splashing around. Anyway, as soon as she's ready to get out we start draining the water and use the outside of the hood to pat her dry so that when she's out of the water she's already half dry and doesn't shiver with chills. My husband and I also do "photo-op" time where after we wrap her and pull the hood over her head we face her in the mirror and smile. We have very rarely taken an actual photo at this moment. The hooded towel here is from Lulu DK Matouk. We ordered her crib linens from them so I purchased two towels to match the set. The rest of the towels are more kid-friendly. One from 3 Sprouts is a monkey, there's a pink chick from PB kids and a pink bunny too. I'm glad we had a few at home for Bee's arrival because the gifts came over several months and if we would have waited for towels to come as gifts my poor husband would have ended up running around New York purchasing hooded towels for us in that first week!- Bee's mom, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. to add a few hooded towels so I did. I ordered some from the company I got her crib linens from and I also expected a few towels as gifts too. I think we have about 10 total now.
