| The Great Where-Should-She-Sleep Debate |

For months before Bee was born my mother kept telling me to buy a bassinet. I resisted because my friends had used their crib or the Bugaboo bassinet from day one and they didn't have any complaints. I finally relented and agreed to get one, but finding one that I went to ShopStyle.com, searched for bassinets and found dozens of styles at a variety of prices - the cheapest was around $500. I refused to spend, or allow my mom to spend so much on a bassinet when I was sure the Bugaboo bassinet would work just fine. We visited several baby furniture stores around New York City and finally found a style that was simple and pink and most importantly, affordable. The bassinet rolled with ease from my bedroom to the living room and nursery. We could let her sleep in the nursery while we ate dinner or watched TV and then rolled her into our bedroom for the night. At three months we knew Bee should be sleeping in her crib but I loved that she slept right next to me at night. I could sit up and check on her and I heard every sound she made so I was right there to help her if she needed me. In the end it was hard for me to transition Bee to the crib because I liked that she was an arm-length away, but I knew she had to start sleeping in her crib sooner rather than later. I'm glad I listened to my mom and now I tell Bee that moms are always right. One day I hope she'll believe me. - Bee's mom, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
