| Designer Kristin Borden's line had to accomplish many things - allow little girls to dress themselves for a sense of independence, teach girls the importance of doing good, offer versatility and value for the parent and be good for the environment. The result is Grace 4 Girlz, an organic cotton line of easy-to-wear knits. Every piece in the collection completely reverses, and there are no buttons, clasps or closings so girls can dress with ease. These pieces easily slip over their heads and they can choose which side they want to wear. For added flair, girls can decorate each outfit with a collectible ‘Do Goodz’ magnetic applique that has an inspirational word reminding girls to do something good for a friend, her family an animal or even the planet.
Each collectible ‘Do Goodz’ has a magnet hidden behind an organic cotton canvas patch that can be attached to the magnetic heart logo appliqué on each jersey piece in the collection. Each outfit comes with a one of the five signature appliqués – a bow, peace sign, daisy, butterfly and lollipop – and girls can collect the other ‘Do Goodz’ to attach and change the look of their outfit. The collectibles range from crocheted flowers and fruit to felt hearts and flowers.
The seven piece line is featured in four color combinations – lavender, bubblegum pink, mint and lemonade yellow. Silhouettes include a hooded zip-front jacket, a ruffled tank top, ruffled pants, a cap sleeve top, a tasseled waistband skirt, a capri scooter skirt and a tank dress. There are also hair accessories to coordinate with each group.
The line is sized 2-6X and wholesales for $4.25 for a ‘Doo-Goodz’ magnetic applique to $28 for the reversible hoodie.
