I've never been one to hit the stores weeks before Christmas to ensure I'll be able to get my hands on the hottest toys of the season.  It's a rare year when the hot toy even makes it on to any of my kids' lists. And this year seems to be no exception as Kid Cool has already deemed the Zhu Zhu Pets "weird". He does, however want a "real" pet.

Kid Cool's Christmas Wish List

2. A turtle or "some fish"

3. Walkie talkies

4. V-Tech Nitro Junior Laptop

5. Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues (for Xbox 360)

6. Nerf N Force Sword

7. Nerf Dart Tag Furyfire 2-player set

8. Any Xbox 360 games based on this year's movies (from Monsters vs. Aliens and Up to Bolt and Planet 51)

That's a pretty good list for the family (and Santa) to choose from. Unfortunately, his #1 wish won't be under the tree this year. One more year and perhaps he will be ready for an authentic board from Termite Skateboards, which offers skateboards and accessories targeting 2 to 12 year olds. In the meantime, I think we'll put a Yo Baby Kick Flipper under the tree to help him prepare for the real thing next year.

Another item not on his list that he'll find under the tree is a Fisher Price TRIO Castle building system. There's the King's Castle, the Wizard's Castle and the Hammerpult.

Kid Cool is playing with his building systems a bit more these days, but sometimes he gets frustrated with the Spongebob Squarepants and Indiana Jones LEGO sets he received for his 6th birthday in October. While he hones his LEGO building skills, he can mess around with the easy-click TRIO bricks, which are designed for kids ages 5 to 9.
